Justin walks pretty well now.

Justin Started to Walk

Justin started to walk few days after his birthday party.  He took about 2 steps and then would sit down.

Justin's 1 Year Old Birthday Party

We celebrated Justin's 1 year old birthday a little bit late (cuz I was trying to find a best date for everyone.  I prefer to have party or attend party on Saturday but grandma usually works on Saturday and uncle too).  However, recently Uncle Dennis schedule changed (off on Tues and Wed).  I invited uncles and aunties.  My sister, nephew, and niece couldn't come because my sister can't handle over an hour drive and kids have to attend school the next day. 

Eric and I didn't sleep the whole night preparing for the party.  Although we didn't invite many people to come, we tried our best to prepare for everything.  I even went shopping at Wal-Mart at 2:30 am and then went to Winco too.  I did a "LORAX" theme.  Justin's new favorite movie is Lorax.  He can even say the word "Lorax".  I only invited few friends (the ones I'm sure they would like to come).   I didn't want to just invite everyone (some people probably don't want to be invited). 

I didn't have enough of time to prepare everything that I wanted to do.  I didn't get to finish my Lorax pinata.  I wanted to do stir-fried noodles, baked Madeleines, make mango pudding and etc but didn't get the chance to. 

I designed my own cupcake toppers on Avery.com.  I asked Vicky to print them out for me but she couldn't get the color printer to print out correctly.  I ended up going to FedEx.  I baked some cupcakes and then put the cupcake toppers on them.

I bought wafer sticks.  My idea was using it as a stick which cotton candy can be on the top as "Truffula tree".  I used them to decorate the cake that I baked.

Party Favors
I made "Truffula" pencils (painted white with acrylic paint, drew black marks as the tree marks, made yarn poms poms and brushed them so that they are fluffy like the Truffula trees). 

Eric suggested to use hole puncher to make a hole on the Mason jar lid.  I got this idea from Pinterest.  Some people used Mason Jars as party favors (pour drinks in them). 

I bought cotton candy machine from Kohls.  Vicky was having fun making cotton candies. 

Eric started bbq pork ribs early in the morning (took 6 hrs). 

Dancing

Grandma said Justin started to dance.  If you tell him "tiao wu / yao yao yao", he'll move side to side.

Wyatt's 3 Year Old Wellness Checkup

Wyatt didn't get any shots today ( Lucky! )  ^__^

Justin's 1 Year Wellness Checkup

Today is Justin's 1st birthday!!! Happy Birthday Baby Justin!  I took him to see doctor for his 1 year old checkup.  He received 3 shots.  He was so brave, only cried for few seconds (1 shot on the right and 2 shots on the left).  He's such a small baby. 

5th & 6th Teeth

I noticed Justin's 5th tooth (bottom right) came out today.  6th Tooth came out right after.

"Mommy, my butt hurt"

Wyatt: "Mommy, my butt hurt"
Mommy: "why?"
Wyatt took off his undie and shorts...mommy looked at Wyatt's butt...no rash, no cuts...
Mommy: "I don't see anything"
Few minutes later
Wyatt: "Mommy,  my butt hurt"
Mommy: "Your butt? your 屁股？“
Wyatt: "Yes."
Mommy: "Go upstairs, go take a bath"
Mommy called grandma and found out Wyatt didn't poo yesterday.
Daddy told Wyatt to sit in the toilet and then he went poo poo.
He just potty trained 3 weeks ago.  I guess that's his way of saying he needs to go poo poo.

Getting Off Of the Bed

Justin knows how to get off of the bed properly (crawl to the edge of the bed and turn around so his legs go down of the bed first).  Good job baby!!!

Big Accomplishments

Big accomplishments this week...Wyatt is potty train, Justin is finally drinking from a bottle (he can suck from a straw too).  
We tried to potty train Wyatt last year while I was doing my "sit month 坐月子".  He wasn't ready at the time so we stopped trying.  
We tried different bottles on Justin but he refused to suck (Avent, Nuby Natural Touch, Playtex Drop Ins, Breastflow, and one from Taiwan with straw).  He finally suck the one from Medela.

Daddy cut Ethan and Wyatt's hair today.

Ethan and Wyatt's Bday

Since mommy and daddy bought them Legos for gifts (Pirates of the Caribbean and Batman), mommy thought Lego cakes would be nice.  

Grandma, Great Aunt, Great Uncle, Uncle Dennis, Uncle Dennis's friend, Vicky, Robert, and Cathy came to our house.  Most of them came to visit for the first time (except Grandma and Great Aunt).  Grandma cooked rice noodle 米粉, sweet rice 油飯, stuffed bell peppers with rice, smoked turkey, smoked pork, 滷肉，and 滷蛋.  

Blessing the House

Father in law, Mother in law, and Brother in law Tri came today.  Mother in law looked up Chinese calendar and said today is a good day for moving into the new house.  So they came and prayed and blessed the house.  They brought stir fried egg noodle, sticky rice, roast pork, banana muffin, and tapioca dessert to eat.

Moving Stuffs

Mother in law said June 24th is a good date to move, so we moved major stuffs on June 22nd and 23rd.  We moved the king size bed, twin beds, and etc.  My mom drove her car too to help us move.

Family Room

We arrived at Temecula around 1 pm on Saturday.  We went to the mall to have lunch.  We got a pair of shoes for Ethan and screw drivers set for daddy.  After that we went to Target and got 2 pizzas and stuffs.  The last stop was 99 Cents Store.

On Sunday, we went to Costco for lunch.  When daddy almost get to the front of the line, he received a phone call.  He couldn't really hear it because it was noisy.  He hang up and then he received another call.  This time he heard a kid saying "Open the door!"  He was like, "Who is this?"  Grandma decided to drive  Ethan and Wyatt to Temecula.  After we finished our hot dogs, we went straight home.  Grandma brought chairs, stools, forks, spoons, knives, and etc with her.  Ethan and Wyatt slept in the tent upstairs with Grandma. lol

Daddy and I had dinner from Rose Garden Thai Cuisine (pad Thai and crab fried rice).

Daddy and I went to Burger King to get breakfast on Monday morning.  After breakfast, Grandma took Ethan and Wyatt back to Spring Valley.  Uncle Tri came to Temecula and brought us lunch from Yoshinoya.  We finally finished painting family room around 4 or 5 pm.

It took us a long time to prep the walls.  Daddy thought "bar harbor beige" color is too dark.  But after we finished painting the family room, the color turned out nice.

Justin - 3rd Tooth

Daddy and I noticed Justin's 3rd tooth broke through on the top.

Justin's 9 Month Check Up

I asked doctor to prescribe Desonide cream for his red cheek.  He didn't get any shots today.  He got a prick on the toe to check for iron level.  He didn't even feel it.  I thought he wouldn't pass it since he's so skinny but he passed.

Cafe Sevilla

I asked Grandma to take care of Ethan and Wyatt so I could go eat at Cafe Sevilla with daddy.  We took Justin with us.  I bought coupon from Deals.utsandiego.com and it expires on 5/31.  The food was ok, not great.  

After we ate, we walked around in Horton Plaza.  

Pala Choices Buffet

We took my mom to eat at Pala's Choices Buffet for Mother's Day.  I thought we would celebrate Mother's Day with in laws but mother in law had to work.  Food was good (plenty varieties).  Dessert looks better than it tastes.

First Two Teeth

Justin's two bottom teeth finally broke through.  I mentioned it to daddy and he said he noticed them on Wednesday or Tuesday.

Moving Around

Justin starts to move around.  He is good at moving side ways.  He's trying to crawl but not good yet.  When he's on the bed, he pulls on the sheet to help him pull himself forward.

When he sees remote, my lap top, electric cord, ipad, and ipod, he'll try to grab them asap.  He loves to chew on the tags and electric cord.

Baby Food

Ever since I bought Bella Baby Rocket Blender, I've made sweet potato, carrot, apple, and butter squash for Justin.  So far, he prefers sweet potato.

I bought Bella Baby Rocket Blender at Kohls on Friday.  Regular price is $49.99 and I got it for $29.99 with 30% off.  I wanted to buy Baby Bullet but it costs more.  I tried to win it by entering free giveaway online but haven't have any luck.

I already blended up sweet potato and banana for Justin :)

Moving Around

Even though Justin can't crawl yet but he's moving around by rolling and pushing.  He rolls around, moves to his sides, and pushing himself back.

Roll Over

Justin rolled over by himself around Feb. 3.

Banana

I fed Justin a little bit of banana this week.  I fed him some rice cereal with formula too.

Pea

Daddy fed Justin a little bit of baby food (pea) last week.

Solid Food

Eric and I tried to train Justin to drink from bottle but he refused to take any bottles (just like Wyatt).  I went to Carol's office to do some training on Dec. 12, 2011 for 6 hours.  My mom tried to bottle feed Justin but he didn't want it.  She didn't want him to be hungry that long so she fed him 麵茶.

I worked at Carol's office for 7 days (Dec. 19, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29).  During these 7 days, Justin still didn't want to take bottle.  He would eat rice cereal though.  If you spoon feed him, he'll take it.

Poo Poo

Every newborn will poo poo as they are drinking or while they are sleeping.  Justin rarely poops while he sleeps starting the 3rd week.
